JOHN MARCELLA

Acility’s President, Mr. Marcella brings over two decades of seasoned experience in global operations leadership and multi-site real estate and facilities operations to the company. Mr. Marcella comes to Acility highly regarded for his comprehensive understanding of multi-location, geographically dispersed operations, facilities, and teams within a large, multi-faceted & matrixed organization.

Prior to joining Acility, Mr. Marcella led as the Senior Vice President and Head of North American Enterprise Real Estate and Facilities Management for TD Bank Group in New Jersey. There, he was responsible for a portfolio of 35 million square feet comprised of 4,000 locations, restructuring the FM organization and creating the North American Facilities Management Strategy, along with focusing on the full life cycle of Real Estate and Facilities across various lines of business throughout North America (US/Canada). During this time, he also successfully opened North America’s first “Net Zero”, Carbon Neutral, and “teller-less” banks.

Before TD Bank Group, Mr. Marcella brought his proficiency to Connecticut, where he served simultaneously as Vice President of Global Real Estate and Facilities for World Wrestling Entertainment and Vice President of Brand Operations at FM Facility Maintenance. In preparation for the launch of the WWE Network, Mr. Marcella championed their global real estate expansion strategy, covering a variety of international markets including Dubai, Mexico City, Hong Kong, India, Mumbai, Russia, and Turkey.

At FM Facility Maintenance, he utilized his global management know-how to deliver innovative models and programs to perfect purchasing and operating practices for over 35,000 retail locations and save millions of dollars in costs and support. During his time here, Mr. Marcella worked with prominent, multi-site retail, restaurant, and petroleum locations such as TJ Maxx, Stop N Shop, Exxon Mobil, Alliance, 7Eleven, Burger King, McDonalds, American Eagle, Dollar General, Michaels, Rent A Center, and Friendly’s.

In addition to his role at Acility, Mr. Marcella was recently appointed to the Board of Professional Retail Store Maintenance (PRSM) and also serves as Chair Person for the Facilities Management Committee and the Sustainability Council. In 2014, he was the Keynote Speaker at the National Conference for retailers, where he presented a program on developing a multi-national facilities management platform for large, geographically-dispersed matrixed organizations.

Not only is Mr. Marcella a Certified Facility Manager and part of the International Facility Managers Association, but he is also certified in NFPA, PRSM, and OSHA. He occasionally shares his expertise as a guest speaker on the focused Facilities Management broadcast, SHOPTALK, and is currently being interviewed for an upcoming book on FM practices and up and coming programs.
